Integrity

A good man will rise and battle with adversity; while a great man will rise, but is never willing to compromise his integrity even if it means he loses the battle. It is the war, not the battle. It is the race, not the sprint. It is the entire game, not just the minutes.

Not too long ago, I had a little run in with integrity. For many years, I have had a dream, a very noble dream, if I might say so. I have always wanted to serve my nation, to give back to my country by serving in the military.

God's Will and a Tennis Ball

Have you ever found yourself wondering how to interpret God's will or direction in your life? I'm sure most of us can answer, "yes" to that question, but I'm sure very few of us have ever used a tennis ball as part of the process.

Last semester, I was really wrestling with a decision. Finals were only a week away, so of course this wasn't the most convenient time to be pondering my future. As I was thinking, I began bouncing a tennis ball against the wall.

Choose Joy

Choose Joy

When I was younger, we lived in beautiful Southern California. Driving throughout the state was always spectacular, but one drive I especially loved was my drive home from elementary school.

I still don't know if I enjoyed the drive specifically because school was done for the day or because of the conversations I would have with my Mom as we drove home. Maybe it was a combination of both. Mom, if you're reading this, it was definitely just because of our conversations.

Walking on Ice

Walking on Ice

I’m from Arizona, so seeing ice around my school, Anderson University, is a new and exciting experience for me. Last week, as we were walking from class, my friends and I decided to walk on the ice. And I lived to write about it.

The picture above was right after our little adventure. Fortunately, I didn’t have to dive onto the tree for safety or find myself in 3 inches of freezing cold water. Granted, I didn’t walk across an entire lake, but walking across a patch of frozen ice for the first time was pretty exciting.
